Since 1980, Chapel By The Sea has been providing a place for Christian worship for thousands of people who visit South Padre Island annually. Since dress is informal, persons can just ''come as they are.'' The service is multidimensional. Each Sunday finds people from all over the Rio Grande Valley and Texas, as well as many other states in attendance. The goal of The Chapel By The Sea is to provide a holy place in which God can be worshiped. In addition to Sunday services, the Chapel is available to the public for weddings, funerals, and other religious services.
