Recycle Your Christmas Tree! Help Build Dunes and Protect Our Sea Turtle Corral 2025

South Padre Island, TX (December 26, 2025) – This holiday season, make an environmentally friendly
choice by recycling your natural Christmas tree with Sea Turtle Inc. Located at 6617 Padre Blvd,
South Padre Island, TX, we are accepting natural trees only from December 26, 2025 (the day after
Christmas), through Sunday, January 4, 2026.

To drop off your tree, head to the Education building behind the hospital. You'll find the drop-off
spot in the grassy area right next to the main gate, where clear signage will guide participants.
Trees can be dropped off daily between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Please ensure all ornaments, lights,
tinsel, and other decorations have been completely removed before drop-off. Artificial trees cannot
be accepted.

"By recycling natural Christmas trees, we are building up the sand dunes that serve as a vital line
of defense for our hatchling corral,” said Wendy Knight, CEO of Sea Turtle Inc. The trees help trap
and hold sand, contributing to the strengthening of our dunes and enhancing the protection of our
vulnerable hatchlings.

Join us in this eco-friendly effort to protect our dunes and preserve the marine environment.
