Beach Rescue Technician: (Temporary / Part-Time)
Pay Rate: $16.50/Hourly
Applicants returning with 3-5 years of SPI consecutive experience will be paid a rate of $17.50/hour and those returning with 6+ years will be paid a rate of $18.50/hour.
This position performs a variety of routine and complex work in the patrol of the designated Beach area to insure safety of beach visitors. Responds to emergencies as required both in the water and within the assigned patrol area. Monitors all activities on the beach to enforce beach ordinances and maintain public safety. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED; valid state Driver’s License along with good driving record; bilingual preferred; ability to work after hours, weekends and holidays; experience related to EMS, public safety or lifeguarding is preferred or any equivalent combination of education and experience to be determined by the City. Requirements: Strong swimming skills. Must have the ability to pass the Lifeguard Training Academy as a condition of continued employment during the designated timeframe provided by the Beach Patrol supervisor. Minimum age requirement: Sixteen Years of Age (16). This position is temporary and will work more or less depending on the needs of the Island.
