About Us
Since 1947, the BHA has served the local community and created opportunities for every resident to learn about, participate with, and come to an appreciation of the connection between our history and cultural art. We are able to serve the community through our various museums that cover nearly every aspect of Brownsville and the Rio Grande Valley’s history and culture. The Brownsville Historical Association serves the community through eight unique sites and numerous programs throughout the year.
Historic locations, include the Brownsville Heritage Museum, Stillman House Museum, Historic Brownsville Museum, Costumes of the Americas Museum, Laureles Ranch House Museum, Historic Alonso Building, and more. The Association also offers historic walking tours, special exhibits, lectures, cultural programs, and community events throughout the year.
Whether you're a longtime resident or visiting the area, the Brownsville Historical Association is a great place to learn more about the rich history, heritage, and culture of South Texas.
