About Us
Laguna Madre Youth Center is a fun, safe, and supportive place where children can learn, grow, and build lasting friendships. Founded in 1989 and located in Port Isabel, Texas, the Center serves students ages 6–17 from Point Isabel Independent School District, including South Padre Island, Port Isabel, Laguna Heights, and Laguna Vista.
Our after-school and summer programs provide a well-rounded experience focused on education, enrichment, and personal development. Members receive nutritious meals, homework support, and participate in a variety of engaging activities including arts and crafts, hands-on science, reading, math, and computer learning. Our physical education program encourages teamwork and healthy lifestyles through sports and active play in our renovated gym.
We are proud to offer programs like IXL Reading and Math, funded by United Way, helping students strengthen academic skills while building confidence. Beyond academics, we focus on character and leadership development, life skills, and positive social interaction with caring mentors.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Laguna Madre Youth Center depends on community support through donations, volunteering, and partnerships. With an average of 100 members daily, we are committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of local youth—helping them succeed in school and beyond.
