NextDecade Q3 2026 Update: Continued Progress at Rio Grande LNG

Dear community leaders,

NextDecade continues to make significant progress at Rio Grande LNG. During the third quarter of 2026, Phase 1 construction and commissioning activities advanced safely, on budget and ahead of schedule. NextDecade expects first LNG production from Train 1 in the second quarter of 2027, with substantial completion anticipated in the third quarter of 2027, one quarter ahead of the guaranteed completion schedule under the EPC contract with Bechtel.

NextDecade also achieved key milestones supporting the continued development of Rio Grande LNG, including U.S. Army Corps of Engineers authorization for Train 6 and FERC approval to increase the permitted capacity of Trains 1 through 5 from 27 MTPA to 30.15 MTPA. Looking ahead, NextDecade remains focused on safely advancing construction of the first five trains, progressing Train 6 toward a positive final investment decision in the second half of 2027, and beginning the permitting process for Trains 7 and 8.
