Big Savings at Gladys Porter Zoo Discount Weekends!
 
BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (September 3, 2024) — Gladys Porter Zoo will have special discount admission prices for three select weekends only. Guests can rack up some impressive savings with 60 to 88 percent off regular admission rates and see some of the Zoo’s youngest animals, including a baby orangutan, baby flamingos, a baby zebra and an adorable baby colobus monkey. 
 
Admission for Brownsville residents will be only $2.00 per adult or child on September 6th, 7th and 8th. The following weekend on September 13th, 14th and 15th, discount days will be held for residents of Cameron County, Willacy County and Matamoros, Mexico. Admission will be $6.00 per adult (ages 14+) and $4.00 per child (ages 2 to 13).
 
Upper Valley and out-of-valley residents can take advantage of this discount on October 11th, 12th and 13th. The admission rate will be $6.00 per adult and $4.00 per child for those living in Hidalgo County, Starr County, Reynosa, Nuevo Progreso and outside of the Rio Grande Valley. 
 
When purchasing tickets at the gate, guests will need to present proof of residency, such as a driver license or utility bill, to receive the discounted rate. Only one person per family or group will need to present proof of residency. Visitors living outside of the United States may present a passport or other identification to satisfy this requirement.
 
Since opening in 1971, the Gladys Porter Zoo has been dedicated to the conservation and preservation of nature. The Zoo is currently home to over 1700 animals representing over 300 different species. Guest favorites include the Zoo’s troop of Western lowland gorillas as well as the Giraffe Landing Feeding Experience. The Gladys Porter Zoo is also the only Zoo in the United States where guests can see a stunning Malabar pit viper.
